Ever notice how some people are really good at criticizing others?
Rachel Grumman Bender from Yahoo! reached out to me to ask about a recent incident the involved criticizing on social media.
Specifically, Kim Kardashian, when asked about her daughter’s clothes, shared on twitter that her daughter picks out the fabrics and then they make all of their own clothes.
Someone responded to this with a tweet that read, “These are the kind of things why people hate you @KimKardashian”
Why such a strong reaction? Well, I have never personally met this person who lashed out on twitter, but I can tell you it is most likely a reflection of her own conditional self-worth.
Conditional self-worth refers to believing in yourself IF: IF you feel superior to others, IF others are impressed by you, IF others agree with you.
And how you view yourself has a direct impact on every interaction you have.
Putting people down is one way people try to feel better about themselves; it is their conditional self-worth.
So next time someone says something mean to you, realize it is much more a reflection of them- not you.
