Is Divorce Bad for Your Health?

With the Brangelexit news… everywhere, Jessica Migala from Health Magazine reached out to me and wanted to know if divorce can affect your health. Click here to read the entire article.

Sadly, the research says a resounding “yes!”

As I shared with her:

“Negative emotions that accompany divorce, like sadness, anxiety, worry, and feeling overwhelmed, are a type of stress for the body. And chronic stress can adversely affect every single organ system in your body.”

For example, one study found that divorced women are 24% more likely to have a heart attack. What’s worse, that number increases to 77% for women divorced more than once. Ouch.

There is good news, though. You can lower that stress by being proactive in taking steps to reduce your tension.
